Liverpool (LW- 4) For the third time this season Daniel Sturridge scored the only goal in a 1-0 Liverpool victory, this time over longtime rival Manchester United. Manchester United (LW- 1) On the back foot for the majority of the first half, United were not able to find the breakthrough in the second and fell 1-0 to Liverpool. Robin van Persie, last season`s top scorer, failed to find the net for the second consecutive game. The late introduction of Javier Hernandez was not enough to spark United to a goal. 4. Manchester City (LW- 5) While it could have been more dominant, an impressive bounce-back 2-0 victory for City over Hull as they attempted to erase last weeks upset loss to Cardiff. Alvaro Negredo scored the opener and winner, while Yaya Toure scored his second quality free-kick goal of the season. 5. Arsenal (LW- 7) The North London derby is always a big occasion and this one was no different as the Gunners were able to steal the headlines from Spurs with a 1-0 victory. Olivier Giroud scored the only goal in the game for a team whose biggest moment of the week was yet to come. Arsenal would go on to make a big money transfer for Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid. 6. Tottenham (LW- 3) After splashing all of that money in the transfer window, Spurs still had to watch Arsenal celebrate a 1-0 victory in the first North London derby of the season. On the bright side, they were finally able to complete the transfer of Gareth Bale so they should be able to move on and move forward from those questions. 7. Stoke City (LW- 12) Jermaine Pennant fired home a free-kick to give Mark Hughes charges the victory they deserved in a game they mostly dominated. Kenwyne Jones was strong in the victory for Stoke City. 8. They were intent to defend and try to pinch a winner on the counter attack but eventually their defence broke in the 86th minute sending them to their second defeat of the season. 17. Crystal Palace (LW- 20) After opening the season with two defeats, Palace finally got on the right side of a result with a 3-1 victory over Sunderland. He scuffed a clear chance on goal and eventually the Manchester City bullied their way to a 2-0 victory. What could have been if he had converted that opening chance. 19. West Bromwich Albion (LW- 15) The only team in the Barclays Premier League that has yet to score, West Brom fell 2-0 to Swansea and slipped to the bottom of the table. They were not badly out played in the contest, or really out played at all, but were not able to convert chances when they created them. 20. Sunderland (LW- 18) Still searching for their first win of the season, Sunderland found it very hard dealing with Crystal Palace who beat them 3-1.
